Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." John 14:6

I firmly believe this is a great place to start and build a foundation in Jesus Christ.  That is, you must accept Him as your Lord and Savior, and the Lord and Savior of your life.  I would not feel correct about my purpose for this blog without first establishing this cornerstone of peace and love in Jesus Christ.

You can reference multiple scriptures and writings throughout the Bible, such as Romans 10:9, " If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. 11 As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.”[a] 12 For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, 13 for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

This message is preached over and over throughout the Bible.  I could sit here and type page upon page showing examples.  In case you are reading this and need more examples of Scripture saying the message of "Jesus is Lord and Savior", here are a few scriptures for you to research.  I urge you to also read the entire page and paragraphs, so that you get some understanding of scripture and realize that the Bible is the truth and I am not just cherry picking sentences:

Colossians 2:6-7 - Spiritual Fullness in Christ 6 So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, 7 rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.

Acts 4:11-12 - 11 Jesus is “‘the stone you builders rejected, which has become the cornerstone.’[a] 12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.”

Romans 5:10-11 - 10 For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! 11 Not only is this so, but we also boast in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.

John 3:14-17 - 14 Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up,[f] 15 that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him.”[g] 16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

John 20:28-29 - 28 You yourselves can testify that I said, ‘I am not the Messiah but am sent ahead of him.’ 29 The bride belongs to the bridegroom. The friend who attends the bridegroom waits and listens for him, and is full of joy when he hears the bridegroom’s voice. That joy is mine, and it is now complete.

The point is, the message is clear - no one gets to the Father but through Jesus Christ.  As we will discuss in future blogs, there are religions today new and old that teach the exact opposite of this, and unfortunately have millions of followers!  How a church can be called a church if it is not ultimately leading people to Christ is beyond my understanding, but more on that another time.

I absolutely believe this should be the corner stone of your life, and if you are stressed, in misery, feel like your life is falling apart, second guessing everything all the time, wondering what your purpose is, ect... then start with these 3 steps:

1- Confess out loud, right now, that Jesus is your Lord and Savior, and that you love Him

2- Get a Bible - preferable a NKJ or similar, and begin to read it every day, from the first page on, even if you can only manage a couple pages a day, really read it and take in the message, do research, make notes, absorb it into your mind and heart.

3- Find a church home, such as a Christian nondenomenational.  Seek a church home, pray on it, and ask God to guide you in choosing a church.

I firmly believe that doing these three things as a starting point, will help set you on a good path to Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.  Its what I did, and how I started when I was saved years ago.  If He saved me, He will save you too!  He is there for ALL of us!
